I am a 3rd year student  in Chemical and Biological Engineering at UBC.  As an engineering student, I don’t practice lab techniques, especially microbiology lab techniques, that often, so iGEM lets me learn science hands on.  Without much lab experiences, I am always the one bugging Eric and Amelia with questions about basic lab techniques.  But that’s how you learn, right?

Although I am in engineering, my career goal is actually to become a medical doctor.  “Why are you in engineering instead of science?” you may ask.  I get that a lot.

Outside of school and the lab, I enjoy Hapkido, rock climbing and golfing.  I am currently volunteering at the Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department and at the Richmond Crisis Line.  I am also the 3rd Year Student Representative of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
